100 Live Electronic Music Festival 2-Live music and illustration performances and videos


Makan, in cooperation with OrangeRed and supported by the French Cultural Centre in Amman, invited the 100 Live Electronic Music Festival 2 organised by 100Copies in Cairo and Alexandria. The festival in Amman featured local groups, it was held at the National Gallery for Fine Arts garden. Open for the public, the event started at 5:00pm and lasted for 6 hours. This event was supported by Orange, Plan FM, Nai, AlQasr Metroploitan Hotel, Culture Resource and AlBalad Radio.

 

This festival featured musicians Mahmoud Refat, Hassan Khan, Bikya and Ramsi Lehner as well as visual artists Nermine Al Ansari and Malak Helmy from Egypt. The participants from Jordan were two groups, the 9th Circle group comprised of Ahmad Barakat, Arnaout, Ep, Ahmad Sabbagh, and Cowboys comprised of Yousef Kawar, Zafer Al-Saadi and Serene Al-Ahmad, as well as Eileen Simpson and Ben White from England.

 

100 Live Electronic Music Festival project

This project is organized by musician and sound artist Mahmoud Rifat who lives and works in Cairo and the founder of the label 100 Copies. The first edition was held in 2007 in the German Goethe Institute garden in Dukki in Cairo, it lasted ten hours and included local musicians and visual artists.
