Habbat el Lulu (Labaneh Jewelry Boutique)
labaneh balls, olive oil, glass jars, lights and a paper chandelier
Labaneh is a fixed item in breakfast and sandwich snacks in the region. A definite addiction of mine. It is a sort of sour cream made of milk. Shatana village is famous for its labaneh, especially the goat labaneh made in the season between February and June every year, quite strong in flavour and often kept in the shape of small balls in jars filled with olive oil. This project places the labaneh balls in an imitation of a jewelry shop. Labaneh is a jewel, precious and delicate. Dairy production is a main industry in the village and contributes greatly to its livelihood.
