Makan wishes to share the excitement and joy with Synatx and Spring who are responsible for our beautiful virtual space - they also won 2 other silver and 7 gold awards, we tell you: they are good.

The new year arrived with two artists in residence, Saba Innab and Tom Bogaert

Ola and Diala are back from their voyage exploring Latin America and the Pacific Islands, their activities are documented in previous blogs, today, alongside Samah, the team is developing a new structure in Makan and embarking on new adventures. Furthermore, our team is expecting a new member to join soon: Ahmad Ameen – hello Ahmad.

Makan is back in Amman, adjusting to the new clock and coping with the winter, hanging on to the memories of life in Argentina. The last couple of weeks in Argentina were spent in the centre of one of the most exciting cities in the world: Buenos Aires.

On the one hand Makan arrived to Argentina with a pre notion that we will find steaks and tango on the streets, on the other hand, and upon introduction we are often asked questions about Arabic food and belly dancing, to the degree we felt like hummous sandwiches belly dancing our way through Argentine streets.

Oraib Toukan in Istanbul Biennial

Our visual artist Oraib Toukan istaking part in the 11th International Istanbul Biennial which was opened on September 12th and will run until November 8th, 2009. Many international art figures have attended the opening events including Ola Khalidi, Samah Hijawi and Diala Khasawnih, they reviewed the art works and stood strong in support of our own star, Oraib.


Istanbul is a gorgeous city- the street life is exciting, the landscape alive, yayee the city is so promising and large.(http://english.istanbul.com/)
